- An outcast who lives as a Taimanin despite being half-vampire and half-human. She learned swordsmanship from her grandfather, Shinganji Genan, one of the "Eight Generals of the Fuma," and was skilled enough that she was expected to someday follow in his footsteps. But Genan lost his position for the sin of supporting the Fuma head family in a prior internal dispute. Kurenai, who was supposed to succeed him, departed the Fuma village and now acts freely, unattached to any organization. She carries two kodachi, "Shiragami" and "Kohma," that she inherited from her grandfather. She boasts her tremendous combat strength, utilizing the physical abilities of her vampire side, and her specialty is her "Superb Skill: Whirlwind," a technique in which she creates vacuum blades by swinging her two kodachi at high speeds.
